I wanted to tell you that I freaking love your book!!! It has such a Narnia feel to it, but not Narnia at all! It’s absolutely adorable and I love how descriptive you are. And I’m honestly shocked that an agent isn’t picking it up! Not one bite??
Much has happened in the last few months, in this Writing Coach process and in the life of our family. Among them, I have found an opportunity to read a wonderful book of fantasy for Middle Schoolers. I finally had my first chance at being a Beta reader for an entire book! The experience has been amazing! The author has pulled me in and made me an expert in this entire world he created, simply with words. THAT is what I love about the craft of writing. It is taking the mundane idea of words and creating entire worlds, stories and dramas that change the readers mind or perspective. It’s carrying them away to another time and place. It’s giving them courage, freedom, ideas that they never had before. It’s a beautiful thing to bring joy, shared pain, even encompassing rage. That is why I love the written word.
